From CFD development to instrumented testing on our own Lamborghini Temerario test car.
The Draptec Lamborghini Temerario Aero Package has now moved into physical aerodynamic testing.
As part of the development program, we have built our own Lamborghini Temerario development car, allowing us to design, manufacture, fit and test aerodynamic components directly on the vehicle they are engineered for.
The first major component to enter testing is our dual-element swan-neck rear wing.
This is not a render or a virtual concept. The physical wing has been manufactured, installed on our Temerario, and is now being evaluated as part of the complete aerodynamic system.
Instrumented Aerodynamic Development
The rear wing is being tested using load cells and pressure sensors, with the relevant data continuously logged during testing.
We are using the measured data to characterize the wing across different aerodynamic configurations, including:

Wing angle of attack

Slot gaps

Aerofoil configuration

Aerodynamic load

Pressure distribution
The objective of this phase is to establish a reliable baseline aerodynamic setup and build a measured understanding of how the rear wing behaves on the actual vehicle.
The test data will then be used to refine the wing geometry and configuration before progressing further with the complete Temerario aero package.
From Digital Development to Physical Validation
CFD is an important part of our development process, but it is only one stage.
The Draptec Temerario program combines CFD development, physical prototyping, instrumentation and vehicle testing. Having the development vehicle in-house allows us to move directly between these stages and evaluate the physical hardware on the actual car.
The rear wing is being developed in conjunction with the rest of the Draptec aerodynamic package, including the three-element front splitter, optimized underbody and multi-element rear diffuser.
